This song was inspired by a encounter I had with God when my good friend Josh Lambright played his song "Jordan" at a prayer night called Upper Room. Jesus, in that moment, opened my eyes to how fearful I had become, especially of sharing my songs. My confidence was destroyed a few years prior as a result of a few people who were close to me during my teen years who discouraged me from pursuing music. In that moment, I asked God to take the fear away; he did just that. My confidence doubled from what it used to be. I don't have to be afraid because He has set me free; Jesus's perfect love cast out all fear. I pray that this song set's you free, just as Jesus set me free.
lyrics
I don’t have to be afraid no,
I don’t have to be afraid no,
For you are my Shelter Shade
I don’t have to be afraid no,
I don’t have to be afraid no,
For you are my Shelter Shade
From this Fire Storm,
that our sin has born
From this bloody war,
that the Devil has born
From this Fire Storm,
that our sin has born
From this bloody war,
that the Devil has born
I don’t have to be afraid no,
I don’t have to be afraid no,
For you are my Shelter Shade
I don’t have to run away no,
I don’t have to run away no,
For you are my Shelter Shade
From this Fire Storm,
that our sin has born
From this bloody war,
that the Devil has born
From this Fire Storm,
that our sin has born
From this bloody war,
that the Devil has born
Lord I need You,
every moment,
every single day!
Lord I need You,
every moment,
every single day!
Because of you...
I don’t have to be afraid no,
I don’t have to be afraid no,
For you are my Shelter Shade
I don’t have to be afraid no,
I don’t have to be afraid no,
For you are my Shelter Shade
From this Fire Storm,
that our sin has born
From this bloody war,
that the Devil has born
From this Fire Storm,
that our sin has born
From this bloody war,
that the Devil has born
